I am delighted to introduce myself in my new role at St Nick’s. I’m the Revd. Cate Allison and the priest at St Paul’s in Withington. I am thrilled to say that I am joining you as your priest as well.

As you may know there is a plan to create a new team of churches made up of St Nick’s, St Paul’s, St Chad’s and St James and Emmanuel. The process of creating a team is lengthy so we have decided that while we wait it makes sense to begin to work as if we are already one. It is as part of this that it has been agreed that I will be the priest responsible for St Nick’s. Although this is currently an interim measure the plan is to formalise it if, as we expect the new team comes into being.

I am so pleased to be joining you. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and am excited to see what God has in store for St Nick’s. As part of the new role I will be leading the 10.30 Sunday service once a month. The other services will continue to be ably led by Revd.Augustine Ihm and Revd.Jan Ainsworth for the foreseeable future. I am very grateful to both of them for their support. I will also be leading the Wednesday Holy Communion Service every week and will be around at other events and services such as the Craft and Coffee on Wednesday afternoon.

I’d be grateful if you could pray for me as I enter this new role and join with me in prayer for this church community and for everyone who lives and works in our parish.
