St.Nick’s newsletter for Sunday 22nd December

Dear Friends,

Next week at St. Nick’s, we will hold a special service called Blue Christmas. While the festive season is often portrayed as a time of joy and celebration, we recognize that for many, this time of year can bring feelings of sadness, loss, or longing. Whether you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, facing difficult circumstances, or simply feeling out of step with the cheer of the season, this service is a space for reflection, comfort, and hope.

With gentle music, prayer, and the light of Christ, Blue Christmas offers a moment to pause, acknowledge our struggles, and find peace in God’s presence.

I warmly invite you—and encourage you to invite others—who might need this time of solace and reassurance. Together, we’ll remind one another that even in the darkest moments, God is with us, bringing light and love.

Join us as we make room for the quieter side of Christmas, where the Prince of Peace meets us where we are.

Every blessing,

Revd Dr Augustine Tanner-Ihm
