Welcome to St. Nicholas Church – Kingsway

Join us on Sunday 27th October @ 10:30 a.m. for our Sunday Morning Service

  • Welcome to St. Nick’s on Sunday 27th October 2024

    Dear Friends,

As we look ahead to Sunday, we will explore the reading from John 5:36b-47, where Jesus challenges us to recognize the testimony of God in our lives. It’s a reminder of how easy it is to miss what God is doing among us, especially when we’re distracted by other things.

This message has hit home for me lately. I’ve been struggling with chronic fatigue over the past few weeks, which has been a challenge both physically and spiritually. I would deeply appreciate your prayers as I navigate this season, trusting in God’s strength to guide me.

Last Sunday, we experienced a powerful moment as we laid Sybil’s ashes to rest in the memorial garden. It was a touching time to honour her life. We also celebrated Chloe’s baptism—something that the Holy Spirit had been prompting her to do. She lives right here in our parish, and it was a joy to welcome her officially into the family of faith.

Please continue to pray for Sybil’s loved ones, for Chloe as she grows in her faith, and for each other, as we walk this journey together.

    With every blessing,
    Augustine

We will be  delighted to welcome our lead minister, Rev Dr. K. Augustine Tanner-Ihm, who will preach and preside over a service of the word with holy baptism. We are also excited to celebrate Trixie’s baptism with her and her family, who have selected their favourite hymns for the occasion. Our musical director, Ollie Mills, will provide the music. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Church prayer garden

The bird boxes are now in the trees, ready to welcome our feathered friends. Thank you to David Crossley for installing the boxes on Saturday. The first tree is flourishing in the centre of the garden and plans are now in place for the railway sleepers to form a boundary and the palettes to create some raised borders. We’re working towards Silver Eco-Church status. If you can help us on this journey, please contact  jane@st-nicholas-church.org.uk.
